Today marks the 1-year anniversary of Ted’s passing. To me, it seems like it’s been so much longer, but at the same time it seems like he was here only the other day. Some times it feels like he lived in an era long ago and that we never existed on the Earth at the same time. I like to think that when I went to visit Washington, DC during a middle school (or around that time) field trip, he was nearby in one of the buildings. Or there when I went to DC a couple years ago. Sad that I live in Maryland, so close to where he often worked and yet never had the chance to see him all these years. I’m glad though that from the time I started liking the Kennedy family, in around 7th grade until present, I learned a lot, collected so much memorabilia and made some great friends (one being my first true love). Ted made his mistakes in life, just like anyone else, but he spent his life working to make things right and dedicated his time to helping people he didn’t even know. I imagine he’s up in Heaven playing a game of football with his brothers now. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and to all those whose lives he touched either directly or indirectly. Love and remembrance forever, dear Teddy. ♥♥
