On Ted’s would-be 78th birthday, 22nd of February, there will be a tribute held for him at 12:30-2:00 p.m. at Saint Peter’s Church, Citicorp Center, Lexington Avenue at 54th Street, New York, NY. Second, I fixed the Buttons link on the Links page so it works now. Also added a brand new poll (on the sidebar) and you can find the old poll results on the Polls Archives page.
And third, I added two awesome links. One is Jill Krementz’ piece on the New York Social Diary site which she did about Ted with lots of great photos and info. And the other is Ed Reggie’s lovely Reggie Family Archives which includes a lot of nice photos of Vicki’s family as well as some of Ted. Visit and enjoy!
I’m not one to talk about politics, but since the Health Care issue was such a big, important thing for Ted, we need to hope that Martha Coakley wins his seat in the senate, otherwise we risk losing the vote for Health Care Reform if a Republican wins the seat and votes “no” on the bill. Do what you can to get the word out to support Martha. She, and those who are hoping for health care reform, need it.
You can read a message from Ted Jr. and/or make a donation to help Martha’s campaign at ActBlue. The vote for the seat is on Tuesday, the 19th of January 2010. The past decades with a Democratic Kennedy in the seat did a lot of good. Let’s hope it stays that way.
Happy New Year, everyone! And what better way to start it than getting word of Ted and Jean being named the recipients of the Tipperary International Peace Award.
“Senator Edward Kennedy is being honoured for his courageous leadership for peace, human rights, and nuclear disarmament,” a statement said.
“Jean Kennedy Smith is being honoured for all she did to enable future generations, regardless of their background, to share in Ireland’s promising future.”

Their website has a lovely photo of Ted, so be sure to check it out. The ceremony is being held in Ballykisteen, Co. Tipperary, in Ireland, later this year.
